Domain Name Registration

How do you choose a domain name?

    1. The domain should represent your field, your products, services or information you want to present. The domain can even be your company's/institution's name.
    2. Limit yourself to the shortest and easiest to remember domain name that is likely to be as easy to remember as possible but more difficult to be mistaken.

Note:

  • The domain can not contain spaces, dashes or underscores.
  • The domain can have up to 63 characters (although in no case should you ever approach such a dimension).

    3. If attracting visitors through search engines is important, try to enter one or two keywords in the domain name (such as they would be searched for on Google, Yahoo! or MSN).
    4. If you can not decide between two domain options that are written the same as they are read, you should probably take them both so that visitors do not accidentally get to another site.
